Gong Hui Leads Delegation to Opening Ceremony of International Conference on Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research, and Application

Chongqing - The 2024 International Conference on Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research, and Application opened on Sunday in Chongqing, Southwest China.

Ma Zhen, Vice Mayor of Chongqing, attended the event and delivered a speech, while Sun Hongshan, Vice Governor of the Peoples Government of Jiangxi Province, addressed the audience via video. Distinguished international guests included Lim Kinh Liang, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation of Cambodia; Ho Teck Hua, President of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore; Xi Ru, Second-Level Inspector of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange at the Ministry of Education(MOE); and Cai Guangzhong, Vice President of Tencent. Wang Shuxin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Chongqing University, moderated the dialogue session between Chinese and international experts.  



Gong Hui, Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Jiaotong University (CQJTU) Committee, led a delegation to the conference. The delegation included representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Tourism and Communication, the Ecological Environment Research Center, and the State Key Laboratory of Mountain Bridge and Tunnel Engineering, as well as graduate advisors and student representatives.  



Before the opening ceremony, Gong Hui gave a detailed presentation to attending leaders and international guests on the latest advancements in CQJTU’s Desert “Soilization ecological restoration technology and its practical applications. He also expressed the university’s commitment to deepening cooperation with institutions such as Nanyang Technological University and other research organizations.



During the opening ceremony, Gong Hui represented the university at the launch of three platforms: the MOE International Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Transportation Infrastructure, the Engineering Research Center of Eco-Mechanical Desertification Control and Ecosystem Carbon Sink, and Collaborative Innovation Center for New Western Land-Sea Corridor Language Service. Additionally, Professor Wei Hanbing from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering signed a Cooperation Agreement on CDC Intelligent Suspension Based on 3D Road Preview with Chongqing Liangjiang Capital.  



The Conference was organized under the leadership of the university’s Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, with active support from the Office of Administration, the Publicity Department, the Graduate School, the Office of Science and Technology, the Office of Industry-University-Research Collaboration, the Engineering Industry Research Institute, the School of Foreign Languages, the Ecological Environment Research Center, and the State Key Laboratory of Mountain Bridge and Tunnel Engineering. A dedicated team from the School of Tourism and Communication was responsible for hosting a delegation of over 30 representatives from Guizhou Province, earning high praise from leaders of the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and the Guizhou delegation.  

The conference was jointly guided by the MOE and the governments of seven provincial-level regions: Chongqing, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Tibet. It was supported by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and the MOEs Department of Development Planning.



Host by CQJTU, the Transportation Infrastructure Sub-Forum of the conference—The 7th International Conference on Transportation Infrastructure and Materials (TIM 2024)—was successfully held at the Huashang International Conference Center in Chongqing. Centered on the theme Digital and Intelligent Empowerment Under the Dual-Carbon Goals, the forum aimed to build an international platform for academic exchange and collaboration, fostering technological innovation and industrial development in transportation infrastructure and materials. The event attracted over 500 participants, including experts, scholars, industry leaders, and representatives from research institutions worldwide, who gathered to share the latest research progress and explore future trends.
