The launch ceremony of the 2024 China International College Students’ Innovation Competition’s “Youth Red Dream Building Journey” track was held on June 12.

Chongqing Jiaotong University(CQJTU) received a letter of appreciation from the Organizing Committee of the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition and the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education.

The letter highly commended and expressed sincere gratitude for the students’ participation in the launch ceremony, where they delivered an impressive presentation on desertification control. It also praised the teachers and students for their dedication and hard work.

In order to thoroughly implement the important spirit of President Xi Jinping’s reply letter to the students participated in the “Youth Red Dream Building Journey,” the Ministry of Education held the launch ceremony for the 2024 China International College Students’ Innovation Competition’s “Youth Red Dream Building Journey” track on the morning of June 12 in Shanghai, China. The ceremony took place at the final assembly manufacturing site of Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC).

Huai Jinpeng, Secretary of the CPC Leadership Group of the Ministry of Education, Minister of Education, attended the event and delivered a speech. Wu Yan, member of the CPC Leadership Group and Vice Minister of Education, presented the flag to the students joined “Red Journey”. Xie Dong, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai, also attended the ceremony.

The three students from the university - Nie Qixia, Ru Nan, and Zhu Tangwei - as the representatives of the “Desert Soilization” research team, gave a thematic presentation titled “My Position is in the Desert,” which received high praise from the attending leaders.
During the preparation stage, the three students participated actively, worked meticulously, and devoted great effort, contributing significantly to the successful delivery of the event.

Before the launch ceremony, the organizers conducted a nationwide selection for demonstration projects, and five projects were ultimately selected for thematic sharing. The Desert Soilization Ecological Restoration Project of CQJTU was among them.

After receiving the notice of selection, the university promptly organized and mobilized the faculty and student team to fully dedicate themselves to the preparation work. They carefully refined the presentation plan, practiced diligently, and ultimately delivered a high-level on-site performance that received strong praise from attending leaders and extensive coverage from mainstream media.

CQJTU has always placed great emphasis on cultivating students’ innovation abilities, integrating innovation and entrepreneurship education into all aspects of talent development.

The university implements scenario- and project-based educational innovations, promotes the deep interdisciplinary knowledge integration while cultivating talent, and continuously reforms and innovates its education model.

Moving forward, CQJTU will continue to focus on improving talent cultivation, build an innovation-oriented talent training system, and deepen educational reform.
